We're looking for an experienced Senior Delivery Manager to lead the successful delivery of large-scale data and analytics programmes. This is a leadership role responsible for overseeing complex engagements from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams, and business leaders to drive delivery excellence, implement best practices, and identify opportunities for continued growth within existing accounts. Alongside programme leadership, you'll play a key role in developing delivery capability, mentoring teams, and helping shape strategic client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery Leadership
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data and analytics programmes.
- Ensure delivery against agreed scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and business objectives.
- Establish and promote delivery governance, methodologies, and best practices.
- Manage multiple concurrent workstreams across data engineering, analytics, and cloud platform initiatives.
- Identify delivery risks, dependencies, and issues early, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
Stakeholder Management
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and executive sponsors.
- Lead programme governance meetings, steering committees, and delivery reviews.
- Provide clear communication on programme progress, risks, and strategic direction.
- Balance customer expectations with delivery capability to ensure successful outcomes.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop globally distributed delivery teams.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Mentor Delivery Managers, Technical Leads, and emerging leaders.
- Support succession planning, capability development, and career progression across the team.
Technical & Delivery Oversight
Provide delivery leadership across initiatives involving:
- Data Management
- Data Engineering
- Cloud Data Platforms
- Modern Data Warehousing
- Analytics & Reporting Solutions
You'll work closely with architects and engineering teams to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with best practices.
A strong understanding of the following technologies is highly desirable:
- AWS (including Redshift)
- SQL
- Python
Hands-on development experience isn't essential, but you'll need to confidently engage with technical teams and understand delivery challenges.
Business Growth
- Identify opportunities to expand existing customer engagements.
- Support proposal development, solution planning, and delivery estimation.
- Partner with commercial teams to shape future programmes and account strategies.
- Contribute to long-term customer success and strategic growth initiatives.
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone who can combine excellent programme leadership with a strong understanding of modern data platforms and analytics delivery.
You'll ideally have:
- 10+ years' experience in Programme Management, Delivery Management, or Project Management within Data, Analytics, or Data Engineering environments.
- Proven experience leading large, complex, multi-disciplinary programmes.
- Experience managing global and cross-functional teams.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering, cloud platforms, and modern data ecosystems.
- Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with SQL and Python.
- Strong experience delivering Agile projects using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with DataOps practices, data quality frameworks, data observability, lineage, governance, and modern software delivery practices including CI/CD.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
- A track record of supporting account growth through trusted delivery and strategic engagement.
